BEAUTIFUL BEAUFORT BY THE SEA  Beaufort_Bridge.jpg

Beaufort County, created in 1785, is the fastest growing county in South Carolina, stretching 30 miles along the Atlantic Ocean on its eastern side.

Its area is 587 square miles including 64 major islands and thousands of small (barrier ) islands in the state's southeastern corner. It is bordered to the west by Jasper County and to the north by Hampton and Colleton Counties.

The entire  county is referred to as "South Carolina's Treasured Coast" for its rich history, heritage, arts and culture which  create a myriad of treasures for residents and visitors alike to enjoy.

Beaufort is the county seat located in the northern part, and the resort town of Hilton Head Island is located in the southern part of Beaufort County with the town of Bluffton located between the two. Many other Sea Islands, small towns and communities are within the county including the diverse communities found in Port Royal, Lady's Island, Dataw Island, Harbor Island, Fripp Island, Cat Island, St. Helena, Burton, and Lost Island Just to name a few!
